This morning we welcomed guests to the museum to witness the unveiling of our newest addition – a collection of the Beatles in comics!
The morning started with a talk from our guest speaker Tim Quinn, a former Marvel Comics artist and comic book enthusiast. Tim spoke about his time in comics and working with the iconic Stan Lee, as well as the Beatles influence on the comic book world. We then took the guests upstairs to the third floor to see our newly arranged display covering the Beatles appearances in comic books throughout the years, with Tim giving the guests an insight into the Beatles influence of popular culture and the comic book world since 1963.
We were also thrilled to receive an original drawing of a “Walking Dead Beatle”, which was kindly gifted to us by Charlie Adlard! Charlie Adlard is the illustrator on the Walking Dead and has also worked for Marvel and DC, while currently he is working on a graphic novel telling the tale of Altamont and the Hells Bells Angels. Charlie worked closely with Tim in his early years and drew this original illustration for us when he heard that Tim was coming to talk in the museum, making it another Liverpool Beatles Museum exclusive!
