At our museum, we are dedicated to providing an accessible and welcoming experience for all visitors. While our Grade II listed building prevents the installation of lifts, we’ve thoughtfully designed the space to ensure comfort and ease of access. Rest areas are conveniently located at the start of each floor, offering a place to relax, and for those who prefer a broader and more manageable route, our exit stairs can be made available upon request. Our friendly staff at reception are always on hand to assist with any special arrangements to make your visit smoother.

To support all of our visitors, we offer free access to carers, allowing them to fully assess the museum and its suitability for their companions. We’ve also made it easier for international guests to immerse themselves in our exhibits by providing audioguides that remove language barriers and enrich their experience. For visitors with partial sight, we’re pleased to offer free audioguides, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the museum’s rich offerings in their own way.

We warmly welcome guide and companion animals, including both dogs and cats, to accompany their owners throughout their visit. Additionally, we provide free activity sheets for children to encourage fun and educational engagement with the exhibits. Our aim is to ensure that every visitor feels included, comfortable, and able to make the most of their experience at our museum.
